Pokémon Academy Life Forever: A High School Journey in the Pokémon World
Pokemon Academy Life Forever by Pokémon Visual is a fan-made visual novel that reimagines the Pokémon universe in a refreshing new light. Instead of sending 10-year-olds off on dangerous solo journeys, this game places characters from the core Pokémon series into a realistic high school setting. Here, you play as a student navigating the complexities of teenage life while learning about the Pokémon world in a more structured and relatable environment. This visual novel is a must-play for fans who have always wondered what it would be like if the Pokémon universe were more like our own, where education comes first, and adventures are taken with friends by your side.
The Premise: A New Take on the Pokémon World
In Pokemon Academy Life Forever, the familiar world of Pokémon is given a fresh twist. Instead of embarking on a solitary adventure at the tender age of 10, your character joins an academy designed to educate and train young trainers in the intricacies of the Pokémon world. The game introduces a unique blend of high school drama, friendship, and learning, offering players a chance to experience the Pokémon universe in a way that’s both nostalgic and innovative.
The Setting: Pokémon Meets High School
The game is set in a prestigious academy where students from various regions and backgrounds come together to learn about Pokémon. The characters you know and love from the core Pokémon games—trainers, gym leaders, and even rivals—are now your classmates, teachers, and friends. As a student, you’ll attend classes, participate in extracurricular activities, and build relationships with other characters, all while learning more about the Pokémon world from a classroom perspective.
Gameplay: A Blend of Visual Novel and Pokémon Lore
Pokemon Academy Life Forever is a visual novel at its core, but it also integrates elements of the Pokémon universe into its gameplay. You’ll make choices that affect your relationships and the story’s outcome, much like in traditional visual novels. However, these choices are framed within the context of a Pokémon-themed high school experience. You’ll attend lectures on Pokémon biology, engage in friendly battles, and even participate in school events that bring the spirit of Pokémon training to life in a completely new way.

v7.29b.2024 • The game has been written out to the end of Week 8, on May 30th. • Dawn, Rosa, Janine, Misty, Erika, Silver, a Secret Character, and Cheren have character scenes. • 24 Foreverals have been created, unlocked by viewing the character scenes listed above. • Many new 'generic class scenes' have been created--every class has at least thirty, with many having forty. MMCC continues to cook. • A new mechanic has been introduced that will become rather important over the next two in-game weeks. Please report bugs and typos in bugs and #typos, and give feedback in the appropriate channels. Download links are, of course, in downloads. This week also comes with a variety of retcons--changes or states of being that existed previously that I have thought on, and wish to remove. As these may not be immediately apparent, I will list them here, as there's much potential for confusion when it comes to retcons. Mechanical Retcons • Rosa and Hilda no longer swap classes. This means Rosa does not give up her Pikachu. • Nate will now swap classes from Electric to Dark, shortly after Week 7 Tuesday. If he acquired Toxel on Springsday, he will give it to Rosa. • Wally has been made a Fairy/Fighting trainer, and Sonia has been made an Electric/Fire one, retroactively. • The dungeon system has been entirely reworked, with new dialog, mechanics, rewards, and tutorials, starting on the 10th of May. Dungeons are now, in my estimation, slightly harder, but much easier to understand, and much faster to go through. • Several Foreverals have been removed or changed. You will still have access to any FVLs that have the same name as they had previously, regardless of if you have still fulfilled the conditions to get them. Narrative Retcons • Battle Team outfits have been retroactively added to the meetings, starting on the 14th of May. • Eri has been removed from her prior scenes, and will reappear in a more fitting role in a future chapter. • Jasmine no longer uses a cane. She still suffers from all other afflictions stated previously. (Poor dear.) • Removed Ethan.
